Sofia in Slack

Sofia is an AI assistant, part of TSE-Assistant. She answers the consultants and super-users of a company that uses TSE-Assistant about their Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations environment — in a direct message in Slack, from the environment's published metadata index, never from source code.

The problem she solves

A Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations environment carries thousands of tables, forms, classes, security objects and labels, standard and customized. Knowing how a process works, which field a message is about, who can approve what, or how two environments differ means reading the metadata — or asking the one person who knows. Sofia reads the published index of your environment and answers in the chat you already have open.

What she does in Slack

Each answer comes in a thread under your message, with a footer saying which tools grounded it and which model answered. /sofia help lists her commands — the environment, the model, her memory for you, a new conversation, and unlinking your Slack user from your seat.

How your company connects its workspace

  1. A TSE-Assistant administrator presses Add to Slack

On the company dashboard — Configuration → Sofia → the "Sofia in Slack" card → Add to Slack. Slack asks the administrator to approve the app for your workspace; the card then says "Connected to your workspace". Sofia appears under Apps for everyone in the workspace. (The hosted Sofia must be switched on under the same Configuration → Sofia.)

  2. Each person signs in once

Open Sofia under Apps and send any message. She answers with a Sign in with Microsoft button; sign in with your Microsoft work account and your Slack user is linked to your TSE-Assistant seat. From then on, just ask.

  3. Ask

"Which table holds the sales order lines?", "Who can approve a purchase requisition?", "Write an FDD: block the confirmation of a sales order when the customer has an unpaid invoice older than 60 days." — or attach a screenshot of an error with no text at all.

Sign in to the dashboard to connect your workspace

Sofia reads only the direct messages sent to her. She never reads your channels, never posts anywhere on her own, and sends no notifications. Disconnecting the workspace from the dashboard removes the app and forgets every person's link; /sofia unlink forgets one person's.

Requirements

A TSE-Assistant company subscription with a consultant or super-user seat for each person, an environment whose index is published from the company's developer machine, and the hosted Sofia switched on by your administrator. Without an account, Sofia says how to get started. Any Slack plan works.

Your data

What Sofia keeps, where, and for how long is on the Security & Data Handling page (section 4) and in the Privacy Notice (section 2): your messages to her, her answers, the text of attached files, her memories and documents are stored for your company under your administrator's control — or held in memory only, never stored, when live data is on. We never use your data to train AI models. Your messages travel through Slack under your workspace's own agreement with Slack.

Sofia's answers are generated by an AI model and can be inaccurate — check them before you rely on them. A wrong or inappropriate answer: react with 👎 on it, or write to support@tse-assistant.com.
